With Halloween just around the corner (yay!!), I figured it was time to bring back this rad campaign from Ohio University.
There are endless cute, sexy, funny, even offensive costumes that don’t perpetuate racist stereotypes. There is really no excuse.

President Pelton had his inauguration ceremony on Friday, where he officially became the college’s 12th president — and during the ceremony, #Pelton2012 became a trending topic in Boston. See more photos and read the story here.

thereoworld: Rachel @maddow’s last segment from last night. Just wow. #freespeech #libya #americaabroad
We do not [ban] speech, even stupid and offensive and provocative speech, we don’t ban it. Beyond all the chest-thumping by politicians right now about standing up for the right of free speech in the face of this protest, the fact is that no American official is not standing up for free speech. Nobody’s apologizing. Nobody is denying American free speech rights.
But that’s not enough. What we ought to be wanting them to get right is not just defending free speech, but explaining it in a way that makes sense to the world.

Tumblr friends/fans! Please take a moment to watch this video and learn about a music for a cause business I own. I work with local, independent musicians to help them use their music to support a cause they care about. Since I am a start-up, I need help funding the last stages of production on this album. The album is called “Songs For Project Believe In Me.” It features 12 independent artists from across the U.S. and one more established artists, Kimya Dawson, who generously donated their music for our use. The album hopes to use its positive music to inspire teens suffering from issues (depression, stress, suicide, anxiety, etc.) related to bullying. We follow a one for one movement (like TOMs) so for every CD we sell, we will donate one to a teen in a school counseling program dealing with such issues. Though we can’t gurantee the CDs will help, our hope is to brighten their day and give them something to remind them that they are never alone. Everyone involved in this project genuinely cares about the well being of others. Music is power, never forget that.
I’d appreciate it so much if you can donate any amount. In return for your donation, we’re offering some cool rewards, so check out the kickstarter by clicking HERE.
Please re-share this! It’s World Suicide Prevention Day is this is how we are helping raise awareness. Myself and the Hold On Another Day blog (projectholdonanotherday.tumblr.com) will follow you if you re-share as well! :-)
Thanks!
All the best,
Isabel
